Located in San Luis Obispo, my project aims to reduces the number of trees being cut down during construction. The overall layout is designed around trees creating an intimate interior courtyard while providing a barrier on the east side.

Designed to preserve trees and to interact with nature more, all openings to spaces such as bathroom, library, and conference rooms are only access on the outside. There is a floor to ceiling windows facing into the courtyard providing plenty of natural light to enter the spaces. The fire station is located towards the back and away from the library. They can read to the kids at the adobe house which is right in the center. It serves as a community space. In case of an emergency, the fire fighters have direct access to the apparatus bay.
